Gynaecology conditions & treatments
You do not need to know exactly what is causing your symptoms or what treatment you may need before arranging a consultation. I see patients with a wide range of general and complex gynaecological problems and can arrange appropriate investigations and discuss the available treatment options.
Private consultations are available at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital and The Runnymede Hospital, Chertsey.
Common reasons for Consultations
Heavy, painful or irregular periods
Heavy bleeding, period pain, bleeding between periods and changes to your menstrual cycle.
Fibroids & adenomyosis
Assessment and treatment of fibroids and adenomyosis, including medical and surgical options.
Ovarian cysts
Investigation of ovarian cysts and discussion of monitoring or treatment where required.
Pelvic pain & endometriosis
Assessment of pelvic pain and suspected or established endometriosis.
Polyps & hysteroscopy
Investigation of abnormal bleeding, uterine polyps and problems that may require hysteroscopy.
Other gynaecological concerns
For symptoms or diagnoses that do not fit neatly into one category, a general gynaecology consultation may be the best starting point.
Investigations & treatments
The right investigation or treatment depends on your symptoms, examination findings and any previous tests. Options may include imaging, outpatient procedures, medical treatment or surgery.
Hysteroscopy
Investigation and treatment of problems inside the womb, including polyps and some causes of abnormal bleeding.
Laparoscopic surgery
Minimally invasive keyhole surgery for selected gynaecological conditions, including ovarian cysts, endometriosis and other benign conditions.
Medical & conservative treatment
Surgery is not always required. Medication, observation and other non-surgical approaches can be considered where appropriate.
Hysterectomy & other gynaecological surgery
When surgery is the right option, the most appropriate approach can be discussed, including minimally invasive techniques where suitable.
Not sure where to start?
You do not need a confirmed diagnosis before arranging an appointment. If you have new or ongoing gynaecological symptoms, a general consultation can be used to review your history, arrange appropriate investigations and discuss the next steps.
